Paying your water bill in Sunrise doesn’t have to be a hassle. As a long-time resident I’ve tried all the different payment options offered by the Sunrise Water Department. In this article I’ll walk you through the easiest ways to pay your water bill based on my experience. Whether you prefer paying online, by phone, by mail or in person, the Sunrise Water Department has a payment option that will work for you.
Paying Online
The easiest and most convenient way to pay your Sunrise water bill is online, The Sunrise Water Department website allows you to set up an account to manage and pay your bill online,
Setting up an online account is quick and easy. All you need is your account number and an email address. Just go to the Sunrise Water Department website and click on “Pay or View Bill.” This will take you to the online payment portal where you can click on “New Users” to set up your account.
Once your account is set up, you can view your current bill, see your payment history, and even set up automatic payments. To pay your bill, just log in to your account, click on “Pay Bill”, and submit your payment. It takes less than 5 minutes.
Paying online is my preferred method because:
- It’s fast and convenient – no stamps needed!
- You can pay anytime, 24/7.
- It’s secure – your personal information is protected.
- You can set up automatic payments so your bill gets paid on time every month.
- You can view payment history and manage your account online.
The online payment system also accepts debit cards, credit cards, and electronic checks. Just make sure to have your payment information handy when you log in to pay.
Paying by Phone
If you don’t want to mess with creating an online account, you can easily pay your Sunrise water bill over the phone. Just call the number on your water bill – (954) 746-3232 – and follow the prompts to make a payment.
To pay by phone, you’ll need your 11-digit account number and your payment information. The automated system will guide you through step-by-step. It usually takes me no more than 3 minutes to pay my bill over the phone.
The phone payment system accepts debit cards, credit cards, and electronic checks. One thing to note – you will be charged a small fee for using a debit or credit card over the phone. There is no fee for paying by electronic check.
I prefer using the automated phone system rather than paying with a live agent. But customer service representatives are available Monday-Friday, 8AM to 5PM if you need help or have questions about your bill.
Paying by Mail
If you prefer to pay your bills the old fashioned way, you can always mail in a check or money order to the Sunrise Water Department.
Your payment will need to be mailed to:
Sunrise Water Department
P.O. Box 31432
Tampa, FL 33631-3432
Just detach the payment stub from your water bill and include it with your mailed payment in the envelope provided. Make your check or money order payable to “Sunrise Water Department.”
It’s important to mail your payment at least 5 business days before the due date printed on your bill. Mail can take time to reach the payment processing center in Tampa. Late payments may be assessed a fee.
I only recommend paying by mail if you don’t have easy access to the internet or a phone. Mailing in a check is slower compared to online or phone payments. But it will ensure your payment gets there – as long as you send it in on time!
Paying In Person
You can also pay your Sunrise water bill in person at one of two locations:
-
City Hall:
10770 W Oakland Park Blvd
Sunrise, FL 33351 -
Utilities Building:
1355 Nob Hill Rd
Sunrise, FL 33323
Both locations accept cash, check, money order or debit/credit card payments. Customer service reps are available at both locations Monday-Friday, 8AM to 5PM to accept payments and answer billing questions.
I’d only recommend paying your bill in person if you prefer dealing with someone face-to-face or need same day payment processing. Otherwise, the online and phone options are much faster and more convenient. But it’s nice to have an in-person option for those who need it.
No matter which method you choose, be sure to pay your Sunrise water bill before the due date to avoid late fees. The due date is printed clearly on the top of your bill. As long as you pay on time, you shouldn’t have any issues.
Setting Up Automatic Payments
The easiest way to avoid forgetting to pay your bill is to enroll in automatic payments. This way, the payment will be automatically deducted from your bank account each month.
To enroll in automatic payments:
-
Set up an online account on the Sunrise Water Department website.
-
In your account, click on “My Profile” and then “AutoPay Programs.”
-
Select the option for automatic payment from your bank account.
-
Verify your account and routing numbers.
-
Set your monthly withdrawal date. You can choose the 1st or 15th of the month.
That’s it! The Sunrise Water Department will now automatically withdraw your bill payment each month. Just make sure you have sufficient funds in your account on the withdrawal date.
Automatic payments save you time and give you peace of mind that your bill is paid on time. I highly recommend setting it up if you want one less thing to remember each month.
Don’t Get Hit With Late Fees!
As you can see, Sunrise offers plenty of convenient options for paying your water bill. Whether you prefer online, phone, mail or in person, just be sure to pay your bill by the due date. This will help you avoid late fees or any disruption to your water service.
I recommend paying online for the easiest and fastest payment experience. And enrolling in automatic payments takes the hassle out of remembering your bill altogether.
As a Sunrise resident, I hope these bill paying tips help you manage your water account with ease. Having your water service disrupted or paying late fees is no fun. Now you know the easiest ways to pay your Sunrise water bill on time every time!
