Pay by Phone
If you prefer to pay your Little River Electric bill over the phone, that’s easy too. The co-op offers a 24/7 automated phone payment system that allows you to pay by credit/debit card or check.
To make a payment by phone, simply call 1-800-459-2141 anytime day or night. The automated system will guide you through the payment process by prompting you to enter your account number, payment amount and payment details. It’s a quick and convenient way to pay your bill that you can do whenever it fits your schedule.
Pay by Mail
Paying by mail is a simple and hassle-free option. Each month, Little River Electric mails paper bills to members who prefer receiving their statements by mail rather than electronically.
To pay your bill by mail, just write a check or money order for the amount due, enclose it with your paper bill statement, and mail it using the return envelope provided. This traditional payment method allows you to review your electric usage and charges before paying each month.
Mailed payments should be sent at least 5 business days before the due date listed on your bill to ensure the payment is received and processed on time. Be sure to write your Little River Electric account number on your check or money order to ensure proper credit to your account.
Pay in Person
For local members who want to pay their electric bill in person, Little River Electric has a couple options:
-
Co-op Headquarters – You can stop by the co-op headquarters located at 109 Cambridge Street in Abbeville and make a payment by cash, check or money order Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm (closed on Fridays at 3:00pm).
-
Authorized Pay Station – Little River Electric has partnered with Due West Supply Company at 208 S. Main Street in Due West as an authorized pay station. You can visit this location to pay your electric bill in person with cash or check.
Paying your bill at the co-op office or authorized pay station allows you to take care of your payment while running other errands. Just be sure to bring your monthly statement with you to reference your account number and amount due.
Automatic Bank Draft
For ultimate bill paying convenience, look into Little River Electric’s automatic bank draft option. With bank draft, your monthly electric payment is automatically deducted from your checking or savings account on the due date each month.
To set up automatic bank draft payments, complete the authorization form available on Little River Electric’s website and return it to the co-op office along with a voided check. The form allows you to specify the account you want drafted and the draft date. It’s a simple, hassle-free way to pay that helps avoid late payments.
Recurring Credit/Debit Card Payment
Similar to bank draft, Little River Electric offers the ability to have your monthly electric bill automatically charged to your credit or debit card. You can set up recurring credit/debit card payments by completing the automated payment authorization form.
This form allows you to provide your Visa, Mastercard or Discover card details and authorize Little River Electric to automatically charge your card each month on your bill’s due date. It’s an easy, automated way to pay that helps you avoid missed payments.
Levelized Billing
If you want to take the guesswork out of budgeting for your electric bill, look into Little River Electric’s levelized billing option. With levelized billing, your payments are averaged out over a 12 month period to create a predictable monthly bill amount.
To enroll in levelized billing, simply complete the levelized billing application available on Little River Electric’s website. This allows the co-op to calculate your average expected monthly payment and set up level billing on your account. It helps eliminate big fluctuations in your bill.
Payment Arrangements
If you find yourself facing financial hardship and unable to pay your entire electric bill, Little River Electric is willing to work with you. The co-op understands situations arise and offers reasonable payment arrangements to members in need.
Rather than discontinuing service for non-payment, Little River Electric will establish a payment plan that breaks your past due balance into smaller, more manageable monthly payments. Payment arrangements help members gradually get back on track while maintaining electric service.
Avoid Late Fees
To avoid late payment fees, make sure to pay your Little River Electric bill no later than the due date listed on your monthly statement. Late fees are applied to past due accounts to cover additional processing and collection costs.
If mailing your payment, allow 5 business days for it to reach the co-op office on time. You can also view your balance and due date anytime by logging into SmartHub and set up reminders for when your bill is due.
Assistance Programs
If you’re struggling to keep up with electric payments, Little River Electric offers programs that may be able to help – such as LIHEAP, Operation Round Up and Project Share. These assistance programs provide grants and support to qualifying members. Contact the co-op to learn more about eligibility.
Paying your monthly Little River Electric bill doesn’t have to be difficult or time consuming. With options to pay online, by phone, by mail or in person, the co-op offers convenience and flexibility when making your electric payments each month. Choose the payment method that fits your needs. And if you have any questions, contact Little River Electric’s member services team who will be happy to assist you.
