Paying your electric bill doesn’t have to be a hassle each month. IREA offers a convenient automatic payment option to deduct your bill directly from your bank account. This article will walk through how to set up automatic payments the benefits and tips for hassle-free bill payment with IREA.

Understanding Your IREA Electric Bill

IREA, or Intermountain Rural Electric Association, provides electric service to homes and businesses in the mountains and rural communities west of Denver Your monthly bill includes charges for

Setting Up Automatic Bill Pay

To enroll in automatic payments:

  1. Download the ACH authorization form from the IREA website

  2. Complete all fields with your IREA account number, bank account information, and signature.

  3. Attach a voided check and mail the form to:

It may take 1-2 billing cycles for automatic payments to start. You’ll receive bills marked “Bankdraft Do Not Pay” once enrolled.

For final bills when moving, request a hold on your last automatic payment so it’s not deducted after you close the account.

For each account you have with us, you’ll be able to add, edit and remove any payment accounts you have set up to automatically make payments on your bill each month.

Budget Billing allows you to levelize your bill and pay an average amount per month instead of paying for high usage amounts in one season and lower usage amounts in another season. Your budget plan balance will be shown on your bill each month.

How do I pay my electric bill in El Paso, TX?

Paying your El Paso Electric bill and/or your security deposit can be done online or by telephone. Payments can be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (including holidays). The payments are processed by BillMatrix. There is a service fee of $2.35 for all forms of payment made using this service.
