Paying your Grand Rapids public utilities bill is easy and convenient with the various payment options available Grand Rapids Public Utilities Commission (GRPUC) serves over 23,000 customers providing electricity, water and wastewater services As a customer, you have several ways to pay your utility bill so you can choose the method that works best for you.
Online Bill Pay
The fastest and most convenient way to pay your GRPUC bill is online through the customer portal. Here are the steps:

Go to https //customersgrpucorg/ and login to your account. If you don’t have an account, you can easily register.

Under Billing & Payments, click on Pay Bill.

Choose whether to make a full or partial payment. You can also choose from your payment methods on file or add a new one.

Review your payment details and submit. Your payment will be processed immediately.
Online bill pay allows you to take care of your bill in just a few clicks from your computer or mobile device. You can set up automatic payments so you never miss a due date. GRPUC does not charge any fees for online payments.
Pay By Mail
If you prefer to pay your utility bill through the mail, follow these steps:

Write your GRPUC account number on your check or money order.

Make your check or money order payable to “Grand Rapids Public Utilities”.

Allow 5-7 business days for delivery and processing. Payments are due on the 25th of each month so make sure to mail your payment in enough time.

You can also use the drive-up drop box located outside the GRPUC office building. Payments left in the drop box before 8 AM will be collected and processed within 2 business days.
With pay by mail, it’s important to note processing times so your payment is not late. GRPUC does not charge a fee for mailed bill payments.

You can pay your utility bill in person at the GRPUC office located at:

The office is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. When paying in person, you can pay by cash, check or credit/debit card. GRPUC accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express cards. Your payment will be processed immediately.
The GRPUC office has a drive-up drop box where you can leave a payment after hours. Payments left before 8 AM will be collected and processed within 2 business days.
Payment Assistance and Extensions
If you are having difficulty paying your utility bill, GRPUC offers payment plans and extensions for customers in good standing. You can also apply for energy assistance through local programs. Contact GRPUC to learn about available bill pay assistance options.
Avoid Late Fees and Disconnection
GRPUC bills are due on the 25th of each month. A late fee of 1.5% is charged if payment is not received by the due date. If your bill remains unpaid, a disconnection notice will be sent and your services could eventually be disconnected.
Avoid late fees and service interruption by paying your bill on time. Payment is considered on time when received by the due date, not the postmarked date. GRPUC provides reminders when bills are ready along with due date notices to help customers pay on time.
