Paying your Charlotte Water utility bill online is a convenient way to ensure your payment is made on time each month. Charlotte Water offers several options for paying your bill digitally so you can choose the method that works best for you. This guide will walk you through the different online payment options, fees, and tips for managing your Charlotte Water account online.

Online Account and Payment Portal

The easiest way to pay your Charlotte Water bill online is to set up an account on the Charlotte Water payment portal. This allows you to view your monthly bill, see payment history, set up auto-pay and recurring payments, and make one-time payments.

To get started go to https //mycitizenservices.org/ and click “Register” to create your online account. You’ll need your Charlotte Water account number and an email address. The portal is linked directly to your Charlotte Water account so you’ll be able to see your balance monthly usage, due date, and more.

The key benefits of using the online portal include

  • No convenience fees – Payments through the portal do not incur any additional fees

  • Recurring payments – You can set up automatic monthly payments to be drafted from your bank account. This ensures your bill is paid on time each month.

  • Paperless billing – Go paperless by opting in to receive bills electronically versus by mail.

  • Payment history – You can view your past Charlotte Water bills and payment history.

  • Account management – Update account information, meter readings, and notify Charlotte Water if you are moving.

To make a one-time payment, simply log into your account and follow the steps to pay by bank draft, credit card, or debit card. Payments made by 5pm post to your account the same day.

Kubra EZ-Pay

If you need to make a one-time payment without setting up an online account, you can use Kubra EZ-Pay. This third-party service lets you pay your Charlotte Water bill without logging in, but does charge convenience fees.

To make a payment via Kubra EZ-Pay, you’ll need your Charlotte Water account number and street number. Then visit the Kubra EZ-Pay website and enter your account details.

You can pay with a bank account, ATM/debit card, or major credit cards. Kubra EZ-Pay charges the following convenience fees:

  • $1.10 per transaction up to $999.99

  • $55 fee for payments over $999.99

The convenience fee is charged per transaction, so you cannot split payments to avoid the higher fees for larger amounts. Payments made before 5pm will post to your Charlotte Water account the same day.

While Kubra EZ-Pay is handy for one-time and infrequent payments, using the online account portal is better for managing your overall account.

Pay by Phone

In addition to online payments, you can pay your Charlotte Water bill over the phone by calling 704-336-7600. This routes you to the Kubra EZ-Pay automated payment system.

To pay by phone with Kubra EZ-Pay, you’ll need to provide your Charlotte Water account number and street number. Then follow the prompts to make a payment using your bank account, debit card, or major credit card.

The same Kubra EZ-Pay convenience fees apply to phone payments:

  • $1.10 per transaction up to $999.99
  • $55 for payments over $999.99

Phone payments via Kubra EZ-Pay post to your account the same day if made before 5pm.

If you prefer to pay your bill via mail, first gather the required information:

  • Bottom portion of your utility bill
  • Check or money order payable to City of Charlotte

Mail both items to:

City of Charlotte
PO Box 1316
