The most hassle-free way to pay your water bill is to enroll in automatic payments. This authorizes Baldwin County to automatically withdraw your water bill payment each month from your bank account.

To sign up, print and complete the ACH authorization form and return it to the water department office with a voided check. Going forward, your payment will be deducted on the bill due date so you don’t have to worry about remembering to pay.

Avoid Late Fees

Baldwin County water bills are due by the 15th of each month. If your payment is not received by the due date, you’ll incur a 10% late penalty. This adds an unnecessary cost to your bill, so be sure to pay on time every month.

I recommend signing up for email or text reminders through the online payment system. You can select to receive automated notifications when your bill is ready and when it’s due to help avoid forgetting.

Keep Payment Records

When paying your water bill online or by mail, be sure to retain your confirmation numbers and receipts. This provides proof of your payment in case there are ever any discrepancies on your account.

You can view payment history for the past 18 months through the online payment system. Log in to your account and click on “View Bills & Payments.” Here you can see past bills, view payment details and print copies if needed.

If you find yourself facing financial hardship and unable to pay your water bill, Baldwin County does offer assistance programs for qualifying households. The Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) provides federal aid for water bills. Contact the water department for eligibility requirements and application information.
