As a HOEC customer myself I appreciate how they’ve modernized bill payment to fit my busy lifestyle. I never have to worry about late fees or disconnected service thanks to automatic payments and online account access. HOEC truly prioritizes customer experience providing flexible solutions to fit all payment preferences.

In this article, I’ll outline the various ways HOEC customers can pay their electric bill Whether you prefer automatic bank draft, online payments, phone payments, or even old-fashioned mail, HOEC has a solution for you.

Automatic Bank Draft

The easiest way to pay your HOEC bill is to enroll in Automatic Bank Draft. This authorizes HOEC to automatically withdraw the amount due from your bank account each month. There’s no check writing, envelope licking, or post office trips required!

To set up bank draft, simply complete the Auto Bank Draft form on HOEC’s website. You’ll need to provide your HOEC account number, bank account number, and bank routing number. The form takes just a few minutes to complete.

Once bank draft is active, HOEC will withdraw your bill payment on the due date each month. You’ll still receive a monthly bill to review the charges. Bank draft is free of charge and you can cancel at any time if you change banks or want to switch payment methods.

I love the convenience of automatic bank draft. It gives me one less bill to keep track of each month. I never stress about late payments resulting in fees. And I love saving money on stamps!

Online Bill Pay with SmartHub

For those who prefer electronic payment, HOEC offers the option to pay your bill online through SmartHub. You can access SmartHub right from HOEC’s website and click “View or Pay Bill”.

After logging into SmartHub with your account number and password, you’ll see the amount due and option to make an online payment. Payments can be made directly from your bank account or with a Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit or debit card.

SmartHub also allows you to:

• View billing history and usage
• Set up recurring payments
• Report outages
• Update account information
• And more!

I make most of my HOEC payments through SmartHub for the convenience of paying on my computer or smartphone app. The ability to store payment information for fast checkout makes paying my bill a real time-saver each month.

Pay by Phone

HOEC also offers a 24/7 Pay by Phone system for quick bill payment. Simply call 1-855-940-3934 and follow the voice prompts.

With the automated phone service, you can:

• Make a one-time payment with your credit/debit card
• Save a payment method to your account
• Set up recurring payments

The convenience of paying by phone is that you can call anytime – day or night, weekends and holidays. It only takes a few minutes to enter your HOEC account number and payment information. Bills paid by 11pm reflect as paid that same day.

I really appreciate the ability to pay by phone when I’m traveling or don’t have access to my computer. As long as I have my HOEC account number, I can quickly make a payment and avoid late fees.

Pay by Mail

While not as convenient as electronic payments, HOEC does accept bill payments by mail for customers who prefer that option.

Be sure to include your HOEC account number on the check or money order. Mailed payments must be received by the due date to avoid late fees. Allow 3-5 business days for your payment to reach the HOEC office.

I know some customers, like my parents, still feel most comfortable mailing in a traditional check. HOEC makes that easy by providing a printable payment coupon to include with your mailed payment. Just be aware of postal delays around holidays that could result in late fees if the payment doesn’t arrive on time.

Pay in Person

HOEC offers several options for paying your electric bill in person:

• At the HOEC office located at 6327 US Hwy 63 in West Plains, MO. They have both a drive-through window and indoor cashier counter to accept payments.

• Certain local banks accept HOEC payments from the 1st to 10th of each month. Participating banks include Alton Bank, Birch Tree City Office, Eminence City Office, and West Plains Bank locations.

When I’m running errands around town, I occasionally drop into my local bank branch to pay my HOEC bill. It’s quick, easy, and helps me avoid an extra trip to the HOEC office.

Avoid Late Fees with Timely Payment

No matter which payment method you choose, be sure to pay your HOEC electric bill by the due date listed to avoid late payment fees. Late fees are 1.5% of the past due balance.

HOEC offers a billing and payment calendar on their website so you can easily see upcoming due dates. You can also set payment reminders through SmartHub to avoid forgetting when your bill is due.
