A Complete Guide to Paying Your Parkland Light and Water Bill

Living in the Parkland area? Then you likely receive your electric and water services from Parkland Light & Water Cooperative. As a PLW customer myself for over 5 years, I’ve tried every bill payment method they offer.

In this comprehensive guide, I’ll walk through the different ways to pay your Parkland Light and Water utility bill. Whether you prefer paperless billing, autopay, online payments, or mailing in checks, I’ve got you covered!

From the PLW website and mobile app to paying in person, read on to learn the pros and cons of each payment option. My goal is to help fellow Parkland residents easily and efficiently pay their electric and water bills. Let’s dive in!

Online Account and Payment

The easiest way I’ve found to manage my Parkland Light & Water account is through their website, www.plw.coop. You can set up an online profile using your account number, name, and email address.

Within your PLW account dashboard, you can:

  • View current account balance
  • See statement history
  • Make one-time payments
  • Set up autopay
  • Go paperless

Online payments through PLW are fast and free. I like paying directly on their site for quick processing and payment confirmation.

Downloading the Mobile App

In addition to the website PLW offers an app for iOS and Android. You can download it to check your balance make payments, and receive notifications.

The app makes it easy to pay my bill on the go or sitting on the couch. I prefer it over logging into the full website when I just need to make a quick payment.

Paying by Phone

Calling the PLW office is another bill payment option Their customer service team can take payments over the phone at 253-531-5666

I tend to use the website and app more since they’re faster. But phoning in is a fine choice if you prefer speaking directly to a representative or need assistance with your account.

Paying by Mail

Sending a check or money order through the mail is still supported by PLW Just make payments out to Parkland Light & Water and mail to

Parkland Light & Water
PO Box 44426
Tacoma, WA 98448

Remember to allow 7-10 business days for mailed payments to avoid late fees. I only mail payments as a last resort if the website is down.

Paying In Person

You can also pay your PLW bill in person at their office Monday-Thursday from 7 AM – 5:30 PM. They have a night drop box and drive-up window too.

Paying in person makes sense if you happen to be in the area or prefer the human interaction. But the website and mobile app are usually faster.

Setting Up Autopay

My favorite bill payment method is setting up automatic payments through PLW. You can enable autopay on their website, app, by phone, or in person.

Autopay syncs your PLW account with your credit card or bank account. Payments are then deducted automatically each month. It’s one less bill I have to worry about!

Avoiding Late Fees

To avoid penalties, make sure to pay your PLW bill by the due date each month. Here are some tips:

  • Check your balance weekly
  • Set up autopay or recurring payments
  • Provide valid contact information
  • Pay a few days before the due date
  • Notify PLW if moving or selling property
