Having an emergency room visit can be stressful enough without having to worry about how you’ll pay the bill afterwards. Southeastern Emergency Physicians (SEP) provides emergency medicine staffing and services to hospitals across multiple states. If you or a loved one has visited an emergency room staffed by SEP, you likely received a bill from them following the visit. Thankfully, SEP makes it easy to view and pay these bills online. In this article, we’ll walk through the process step-by-step.
Locating Your SEP Bill ID
The first step is locating your 12-digit Bill ID number. This can be found at the very top of the paper bill SEP sent you. If you no longer have the paper bill, don’t worry. You can still find your account by searching with the patient’s name and date of birth. Without the Bill ID, the process just takes an extra step or two.
Once you have your Bill ID number, you’re ready to log into the SEP patient payment portal.
Accessing the SEP Patient Payment Portal
To view and pay your SEP bill online start by going to pay.teamhealth.com. This is the main patient payment portal for SEP and other TeamHealth affiliates.
On the portal’s homepage, you’ll see fields to enter your Bill ID and the patient’s date of birth. If you have the Bill ID, enter it here along with the date of birth to pull up your account. If you don’t have the Bill ID, you can select “Don’t know your Bill ID?” and search for the account by name and date of birth instead.
Once logged in, you’ll be able to view billing details, make payments, set up payment plans, and more. Let’s explore the portal’s main features.
Viewing Billing Details
The first screen you see after logging into the portal shows your account balance along with options to view billing details or make a payment. To see a breakdown of the charges on your bill, select “View billing details.”
This page shows a summary of:
- Patient name and date of service
- Detailed charges – each medical service performed is listed with its cost
- Insurance details – how much your insurance paid, adjusted, or denied
- Payments made on the account
- Remaining balance
Reviewing these billing details allows you to understand exactly what you’re being charged for. You can download or print this information as well.
Making a Payment
To pay your SEP bill through the patient portal, click on “Make payment” from the main account screen You’ll have the option to pay your total balance due or specify a custom payment amount
The portal accepts payments from:
- Credit/debit cards – Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express
- Bank account – by providing your routing and account numbers
After entering your payment details, click Submit to complete the payment. You’ll receive an email receipt confirming your payment. The portal allows you to easily view past payments and receipts as well.
Setting Up a Payment Plan
For large emergency room bills, you may need to set up a monthly payment plan. The SEP patient portal allows you to do this in just a few clicks.
From the main account screen, select “Create payment plan.” You’ll enter the amount you can pay per month, the day of the month you want payments scheduled, and which payment method to use.
Payment plans run on autopay – once created, the agreed upon amount is automatically charged to your card or bank account monthly. You can view, edit, or cancel the payment plan at any time through the portal. Creating a plan helps budget medical bills over time.

We know that emergency medicine is not a “one size fits all” solution.
At Southeast Emergency Partners, we build strong, local, physician-led teams who have real ownership in the practice. This model drives alignment with goals and attracts clinicians who place a high value on continuity and quality of care.
By developing a solid local group dedicated to the community in which they reside, we facilitate an environment where the clinicians are part of the fabric of the hospital and its objectives.
We believe an optimal emergency department structure is comprised of engaged physicians who have autonomous local clinical control, opportunities for physician partnership and equity, and access to national business resources.
