With MyChart, you can manage payments 24/7 right from your computer or mobile device.
In this article, we’ll walk through how to use MyChart to pay your UMass Memorial Health bills. We’ll cover:
- Accessing MyChart and your account
- Viewing your billing statements
- Making one-time payments
- Setting up recurring payments
- Paying as a guest without an account
Accessing MyChart
The first step to paying your bills through MyChart is accessing your account, You have a couple options
Log into an Existing Account

Create a New Account
Don’t have an account yet? No problem – you can easily sign up for one. From the MyChart login page, click “New User” and follow the steps to verify your identity and create your account credentials. Make sure you choose a username and password you’ll remember.
Pay as a Guest
You can also pay your UMass Memorial Health bills through MyChart without creating an account. More on this option later.
Once you’re logged into your account, you’ll be able to view your personal UMass Memorial Health information and access bill pay.
Viewing Statements
To see your billing statements, click on the “Billing” tab located along the top navigation bar. Here you will find summaries of any outstanding balances you owe, recent account activity, payment history, and access to detailed statements.
Statements are displayed in an easy-to-read format, breaking down charges by date, department, description of services, and the amount billed to insurance vs. the amount you owe. You can view statements going back 12 months.
Reviewing your statements in MyChart is a great way to keep on top of what you owe and avoid any surprises. You’ll get the same detailed statements you’d receive in the mail but have 24/7 access online.
Making One-Time Payments
After reviewing your statement, paying any balances due is simple in MyChart. From the billing summary page, click the “Pay Now” link next to the amount owed. This will open up the payment window.
In the payment window you can:
-
Select a payment method – choose from credit/debit card, checking account, HSA, or FSA. If paying by card, you’ll need to enter your card number, expiration date, and security code. For checking account payments, you’ll need your account number and bank routing number.
-
Enter the payment amount – this will default to the full balance owed but you can adjust this if you want to make a partial payment.
-
Add an optional comment – enter any notes you want to accompany the payment.
Once everything is filled out, click “Continue” then “Confirm Payment” to complete the transaction. It’s that easy! The payment will be immediately applied to your account. You’ll see the updated balance next time you access your billing summary in MyChart.
Setting Up Recurring Payments
Making one-time payments through MyChart is convenient. But you can save even more time by setting up recurring payments. This way your medical bills are paid automatically without you having to do a thing.
To set up recurring payments:
-
From the billing summary page, click “Payment Plan Options”
-
Select your preferred payment method and enter the required info
-
Choose the date you want payments to be processed each month
-
Enter the amount of your monthly payment
-
Check the box to “Make this an ongoing payment plan”
-
Click “Continue” then “Confirm Payment Plan”
And that’s all it takes to put your bill on autopilot. The designated payment amount will be automatically deducted from your selected account on the scheduled date each month. You can go back at any time and edit the payment date or amount as needed.
Recurring payments ensure your balance gets paid on time every month. One less hassle to worry about!
Paying as a Guest
Don’t have a MyChart account but still want that easy online bill pay experience? No worries – you can pay as a guest without logging in.
Visit mychart.umassmemorial.org and click the “Pay as Guest” link. You’ll be prompted to enter details from your latest UMass Memorial Health statement. Once the statement is validated, you can view your balance and proceed through the payment process.
Guest payments can be made by credit/debit card or checking account. You’ll just need to fill in the required fields each time rather than having your account info stored. Payments post instantly to update the associated statement balance.
The guest payment option is great for one-time bills. If you expect ongoing statements for care, we recommend setting up a free MyChart account for the most convenient experience.
